Objects and Reasons
The object of this Bill is mainly to provide for the increases in benefits announced in the Budget Speech for 1997 and related amendments and to bring into effect the first phase of a pension reform whereby tile assessment of social security pensions, in the case of pensioners who are also in receipt of a service pension, certain anomalies are removed.
