The new Ambassador of the Republic of Albania Anila Bitri Lani paid a courtesy visit to Speaker Anġlu Farrugia.

Speaker Farrugia and Ambassador Lani referred to the excellent bilateral relations between Malta and Albania, established diplomatically in 1971 and enhanced by recurrent exchanges between the two countries.

The two dignitaries discussed issues of mutual interest, including exchanges between the parliaments of the two countries.

The aspirations of Albania for EU accession as well as the situation in Europe, particularly in the Mediterranean, also featured in the talks.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Albania was accompanied by Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Albania in Rome Gentiana Mburimi.
