On 19 July 2013 Mr Speaker met a group of young foreign students in the Parliamentary Chamber and explained how democracy is implemented through parliamentary procedures and practices.

The visit formed part of the 3.1 Youth in Action project entitled Centre Stage Democracy following a partnership between the Valletta Local Council, the Victoria Gozo Local Council and Scala in Italy.
