The Standing Committee on Public Appointments, which was established by Act II of 2018 - Article 48A of the Public Administration Act, has the power to conduct pre-appointment hearings of persons nominated for public appointments specified in the Second Part of the Fifth Schedule of the same Act. The Standing Committee on Public Appointments was set up by way of Motion No. 103 approved in the House on 5 March 2018.
