The objects and reasons of this Bill are to extend the permissible duration for the letting of shared residential spaces; to regulate the instances of express renewals, substitutions of lessees, additions of lessees, consensual terminations; to broaden the powers of the Authority in the enforcement proceedings in accordance with the provisions of this Act; to broaden the competence of the Adjudicating Panel; to provide for a register of persons who do not honour the decisions of the said Adjudicating Panel; to introduce a procedure for the communication of personal data to private parties; and to carry out other amendments relating to controlled leases regulated under the Civil Code (Cap. 16).
