Grievance

As per current legislation, Maltese residents traveling back from dark red countries are subject to do quarantine in hotels that costs 100 euros per day. This requirement discourage people from visiting family abroad even if we have a vaccine certificate. Ideally, if we have a residence in Malta we should at least be able to apply to do the quarantine at home and avoid unnecessary costs with the hotel.

Wherefore I/we respectfully request the House of Representatives to

Allow people with Maltese residence to quarantine at home when coming back from a dark red country

Closing remarks

This petition does not intend to remove the quarantine at all, it’s just about allowing people to quarantine in their own home regardless of the country they have been before flying back to Malta.
