Bill No. 163
Water Services Corporation Bill Back to List

Sixth Legislature (1987 - 1992)

Objects and Reasons

The Object of this Bill is to set up the Water Services Corporation as a public corporation entrusted with the management of all forms of water including supply, production, treatment, disposal and reuse. Thereby the sector will be rendered more efficient and in a better position to respond to the needs of these Islands and their development, and to meet the challenge of keeping pace with developments in the future. This has been rendered necessary as the management of water has become more specialised and professional, and because of the need for an integrated methodology in the utilization of the water resources and the environment as a whole.
