Objects and Reasons

The Object of the Bill is primarily to bring the schedules to the principal act in line with the Harmonised System as used by Customs. The opportunity has been taken to give protection to certain local products as recommended by the Local Manufactures Promotion Board set up under section 3 of the principal Act.
