Objects and Reasons

The main Object of this Bill is to remove the provision whereby offences against the Food, Drugs and Drinking Water Act, 1972 were to be deemed to be contraventions.

The Bill also amends the provision of the said Act dealing with the taking of samples.

Finally, the Bill contains a few other amendments of less importance.
