Objects and Reasons
The objects and reasons of this Bill are to amend various laws in matters involving the media and journalists for the purpose of strengthening legal protection of the media and journalists and for the avoidance of hindrance to journalists and to the media in the proper execution of their functions in a democratic society. Inter alia the Bill also introduces provisions against strategic lawsuits against public participation in the Media and Defamation Act.
