PR170739 - The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Malta meets the Speaker

Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sergey Nurtayev has paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Anġlu Farrugia.
Speaker Farrugia and Ambassador Nurtayev, while referring to the establishment of diplomatic relations in February 1993, noted that bilateral relations should be further consolidated.
They discussed topics of mutual interest, including exchanges between the two Parliaments. Reference was made to the EU-Kazakhstan Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, which was signed in December 2015, and which has to be ratified by all EU Member States and the European Parliament.
Speaker Anġlu Farrugia referred to the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU, as well as the inter-parliamentary meetings being organised by the Parliament of Malta under the Parliamentary dimension of the said Presidency.
Ambassador Sergey Nurtayev was accompanied by Counsellors at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Rome Assylbek Tauassarov and Seit Nurpeissov.
