Speaker of the House of Representatives Anġlu Farrugia has received a courtesy visit from Ambassador of the Republic of Cape Verde residing in Rome Manuel Amante da Rosa. The two dignitaries noted that diplomatic relations between Malta and Cape Verde were quite recent, having been established in March of last year. They referred to the various similarities that exist between the two countries, such as the size of the population, and the issue of immigration. They discussed issues of mutual interest, including cooperation between the two Parliaments. Reference was also made to the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU, as well as to the interparliamentary meetings being organised by the Parliament of Malta under the Parliamentary dimension of the said Presidency
