The objects and reasons of this Bill are to provide for the registration of sign language interpreters wanting to practise their profession in Malta, and for the granting of warrants to Maltese Sign Language interpreters, and to prescribe and establish the standards of competency required of sign language interpreters so registered or warranted from time to time, and for the setting up of a Register of formally registered and warranted sign language interpreters practising in Malta.
